A private client came to me with a list of specific needs for their new coffee table. Because of accidents with past tables, criteria for their new one required no corner legs that they could knock into, have good seating access without having to scoot between the table and seating, and at the same time be able to snack at the coffee table by being in close proximity. After creating many iterations, the table shape became a soft square. By creating this shape and placing it on a pedestal base, it allowed for 4 sided access with easy egress/exit, and at the same time feel that leaning toward the table made it easy to snack.
